Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

CBT is a structured and evidence-based type of therapy that focuses on identifying changing negative thought patterns and behaviours. Together we can address unhelpful thought patterns and self-defeating behaviours that are contributing to emotional distress or holding you back in life. CBT can help individuals develop healthier ways of thinking and equip them with tools to face life’s challenges.

 

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy explores the unconscious processes that influence an individual’s thoughts feelings and behaviours. This approach focuses on understanding how our past experiences shape our present behaviour and emotional well-being. By bringing these unconscious elements into the conscious we can come to new understandings and begin to develop healthier patterns in our behaviour and relationships.

 

Person Centred Therapy

Person centred therapy is a non-directive approach to therapy that emphasises the client’s capacity for self-direction and personal growth. Key to this approach is the idea that you as the client are the expert on yourself and only need a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment, where the therapist provides unconditional positive regard, empathetic understanding, and genuine acceptance. This setting empowers clients to explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences openly, fostering self-awareness and self-acceptance, and ultimately leading to personal growth and fulfillment.

 

Existential Therapy

Existential therapy is a philosophical approach to psychotherapy that focuses on exploring the fundamental questions of human existence, such as the meaning of life, freedom, isolation, and mortality. It encourages clients to confront these existential concerns and to take responsibility for their choices and actions. By addressing these deep-seated issues, existential therapy helps individuals find purpose, create authentic relationships, and live more fulfilling lives in alignment with their true values and beliefs.
