Men's Issues
Masculinity in the Modern World
While it is true that men are often socialised to suppress emotions and to hide vulnerability, this is often confused with the natural lean towards stoicism that many men have. There is a modern expectation that men must be emotionally open, while traditional stoic masculinity is seen as toxic. On the other hand, naturally emotional or sensitive man are often judged as being weak or feminine.

It is no wonder this kind of mixed messaging leaves many men today feeling judged and confused. Masculinity can be expressed in many ways, and I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to express or explore that in your individual way.
Male Mental Health
A fifth of men have been diagnosed with a mental health condition and men account for three quarters of all suicides. Despite this men are far less likely to seek therapy than women. You may be experiencing these issues or you may feel you lack purpose or direction, or may be struggling with issues related to identity or self-image. Men often face unique and specific challenges and societal pressure. I am very aware of the stigma and judgment that men face when they seek help and strive to create a space. We can also focus on practical tools and techniques that you can use to overcome your issues and challenges. I believe a key goal of therapy should be to promote resilience and personal development.
Personal Development
Psychotherapy for male personal development focuses on empowering men to achieve their full potential by fostering self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and personal growth. Through therapy, men can explore their values, goals, and aspirations in a supportive environment, overcoming internal barriers and societal pressures that may hinder their progress. By addressing issues such as self-esteem, communication skills, and stress management, psychotherapy helps men build confidence, enhance their relationships, and lead more fulfilling, purpose-driven lives. If you feel that you are not where you would like to be in life, or are looking to level up, then therapy may be right for you.
Relationship Issues
Therapy can help men struggling with relationship issues by offering a supportive environment to explore and understand their emotions, communication patterns, and behaviours. Together we can identify underlying problems, such as unresolved past experiences or ineffective communication styles, that may be affecting your relationships. By developing greater emotional awareness and healthier interaction skills, men can build stronger connections, and navigate conflicts more effectively, leading to better personal and romantic relationships.
Substance Abuse
Men might turn to alcohol or drugs as a coping mechanism for stress, anxiety, or unresolved trauma. Psychotherapy can be highly effective in addressing these issues by providing a safe space for men to explore their emotions, understand the root causes of their substance use, and develop healthier coping strategies. Through tailored therapeutic approaches, men can work towards recovery, build resilience, and foster healthier, more balanced lives.
